Patriarch of Russia, Kirill II, says “Haiti deserved devastation”

Patriarch of Russian Orthodox Church said today that “Haiti deserved devastation.”

“this country and its inhabitants turned their back on christian morale” he said. As Russian Patriarch implies Haiti was nest of drug addicts, corruption, prostitution, and that Haitians lost a face of a human.

Well… dunno what to say…

19 years old Georgian killed in Moscow by Police

Moscow – 19 years old Edward Gurtskaia was killed in a street of Moscow by Drunk Russian police officers.

Officers assaulted Edward while he was walking down on the street. As the relatives of victim say, Gurtskaia had a specific Georgian (Caucasian Region) looks, and evidently it was easy for those police officers to spot him in crowd.  No one attempted to help young man and he was killed.

As Russian Attorney General’s office reports all three murderer are already arrested.

Georgians have been victims of the Russian Xenophobia and Nazism before. Even police and Russian politicians made some racist remarks about Georgians. About  years ago Georgian were victims of mass deportation from Russia, this case is now tried in Tribunal of the Hague.

Racism and Nazism is widely spread in Russia and has strong lobby in Russian Parliament.

Russian “White supremacy” groups distributes fliers on which were photos of Children from Caucasus Region and Asia. Message on flier said: “They are cute, aren’t they? But they will grow up and take your job and home away. Don’t let them flourish.”

Russian Soldiers took computers from Georgian school in Abkhazia

Today, in Village Nabakevi, computers were taken from public school by Russian soldiers. Village Nabakevi is located in Conflict zone Abkhazia and it is inhabited mainly by Georgians. This is not the first time when village is robbed by Russians and as it is within the Conflict zone, no one can protect people. EU and UN missions were removed from there after 2008 august war between Russia and Georgia. And even if those missions were there, what could couple of diplomats do other then condemn  this fact.

Well situation is not hopeless EU, Mr. Sarkozi, Mrs.  Merkel and other high officials will do the job and make a comment about this behavior of Russians. What else they can do? or what else they want to do?

4 Georgian Teenagers Arrested by Russian Soldiers

5 days ago in conflict region Samachablo (a.k.a. South Ossetia) 4 Georgian teenagers were arrested by Russian soldiers. Russians said that kids had explosives and weapons with them, but there is no evidence of this. Later video was released where Georgian teenaers, George Romelashvili(14) , Alex Sabadze (14), Victor Buchukuri(16) and Levan Khmiadashvili(17) were shown. As kids said they wanted to visit their relatives and their house which is located in one of the villages in Samachablo. Kids were forced to leave their houses and relatives after Russia-Georgia war in 2008.

Today kids were visited by representatives of “Red Cross.” As international organization is reporting kids are OK and there are no signs of physical or psychological abuse.

Georgian Government asks international society to help kids and to negotiate with Russians to free them. Obviously this is another provocation from Russians and Georgia’s only hope is international pressure on occupants.

This is not first fact that Georgian citizens are arrested by Russian soldiers. 18 other people were arrested, or I would say kidnapped by Russians. All of those 18 people were taken from outside of the conflict zone. Most of them are inhabitants of the villages which are located near the zone.

God knows when all of this will end. It is clear that Russians are trying to spark another conflict in region and achieve their target, which is occupying Georgia and making it part of Russia again.
